April Showers…..
So, I was very impatient waiting for summer to begin in Chicago, and I hadn’t taken a trip since March, so I made a last minute decision to get on a plane for 8 hours and head for Barbados (the furthest east Caribbean island, not far from Venezuela). I went with the Cayman Island swim team and was a chaperone/”physio” for the CARIFTA Games (a meet with all the caribbean islands for kids ages 11-18). As always (this was my 5th year at this meet), I had a wonderful time and enjoyed working with the cayman kids and definitely enjoyed the sun, sand, and beautiful sea! Barbados photos
For Easter, my mom, Christy, Dan, Chase & Cole came to visit us. We had a blast!!! While the boys played golf (Christian’s latest conquest, with new clubs and all), we took Chase and Cole to the park to try out the swings and a petting zoo. The smiles were priceless as they swung for the first time and their curiosity with the animals was amazing as well. On Easter, they met the easter bunny and got to be a part of an easter egg hunt after church. Thank God for Cadbury!!!!! Easter photos and Swings/Farm
Christian was able to get some Suite tickets for a weekday Cubs game and went with Nick. Fortunately, they won, and had lots of fun enjoying the Suite’s ammenities!!! And the view!!! “Suite” seats photos/video
At the end of April, there was an NIU Swim Team Reunion at Lord Stanley’s in Dekalb. It’s always fun to reminisce and who can beat the cheap beer and garlic and tomato World Famous pizza?!?! Go Huskies!!
